Exaton 16.5.1 is a filler material for joining EN 1.4418 and similar steels; it is also used for overlay welding. The weld metal has excellent resistance to cavitation and is used typically for shafts, propellers, pumps and valves in for example, hydro power generation. It is used for SAW welding paired with Exaton Flux 15W.

SAW Flux that Helps You Save

Electroslag welding is similar to submerged arc strip cladding. The difference, however, is in the flux. ESW flux provides increased speed and fewer cladding layers (weld deposit), resulting in an overall lower cost of operation. Savings are in consumable costs and fewer man hours required.
